About Tim: 

Tim Begalka was born and raised in Clear Lake, South Dakota. He grew up working in the family greenhouse. This instilled values of hard work, determination, and South Dakota grit. Tim has been a vibrant asset in the District 4 community all of his life. Tim proudly served District 4 in the House (2001-04) and the Senate (2011-14) where he stood for conservative South Dakota values. Values such as life, 2nd Amendment, and fiscal conservatism. Tim has stayed active in the Republican party, currently serving as treasurer of the Deuel County Republicans. Tim graduated from SDSU with a degree in Horticulture in 1982. 

Tim, his wife Rhonda, and his boys Ronald and Robert reside in Clear Lake, where they proudly own and operate Sodak Gardens. Sodak Gardens has been a Begalka family business since its start in 1954. Tim’s goal is to keep the small town, South Dakota way of life vibrant for generations to come.
